Yamaha EC 03 Electric Scooter

Japanese motorcycle manufacturers have recently be launched Scooter Yamaha electric 03 EC, the first product from a range of zero emissions is planned to be launched in the near future. Yamaha also revealed its target to become the market leader in electric motorcycle segment in 2020. Scooter EC 03 will be sold in Tokyo on 1 September and in Japan a month later. New electric scooter has been designed as a "smart vehicle". Scooter activated by 50 V lithium ion batteries manufactured by Sanyo.

YIPU (Yamaha Integrated Power Unit) has developed a Yamaha Scooter with EC 03 brushless DC, control units, gearboxes and brakes, all integrated into a 12-inch rear wheels. According to producers, YIPU develop 9.1 hp and has a maximum torque output of 7.1 lb ft. Scooter Yamaha also claims 26.7 miles at a speed of 18.6 mph on flat road was windy at the temperature 77 degrees F with a 121 pound rider. This scooter has a range of 43 km when driving about 30km / h with a fully charged lithium ion battery.Scooter EC 03 was created with a weight of 123.4 kg, approximately 30% lighter than the average gas powered 50cc scooter and charging the battery takes about six hours.

Before released in the market, advances to the EC 03 orders must be received by dealers designated from July 15 in the metropolitan area of Tokyo and throughout Japan starting September 15, 2010. Yamaha's already planning to introduce this model of electric motors to Europe and Taiwan. Yamaha is also targeting the Chinese market, because this time the Chinese electric bike users is estimated at 20 million units
